John and Louise Leavelle celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary today. They were married on May 16, 1952. To their union, they have six children: Wallace Leavelle, Sharon Leavelle, Wasena Leavelle, Orangetta Leavelle, Desire Leavelle Morant and Carlos Leavelle; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Hunter James Osgood announces the engagement of his parents, Kayla R. Gosline and Justin R. Osgood. Kayla is the daughter of Deborah P. Snider of Glade Hill and the late Harold C. Gosline of Roanoke. Justin is the son and stepson of Cindy A. and Helbert P. Treadway of Rocky Mount. Justin is the son of Timothy R. Osgood of Rocky Mount. An October 2012 wedding is planned.
