WIRTZ - The funeral for Robin Louise Arnett, 53, who died Thursday, May 10, was conducted Monday, May 14 from Halesford Baptist Church by Pastor Melvin Harris and Rev. Justin Likens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Iris McGuire.
Survivors include her husband, Marshall Arnett; and brother, Robert Wayne McGuire (Pat).
Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.

U.S. Veteran Curtis Cornelius Brubaker, age 84 of Boones Mill died Saturday, May 12, 2012.
He was born April 22, 1928 a son of the late Cornelius (Neil) and Dorothy Wiley Brubaker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Wilkinson Brubaker; and son-in-law, William “Bill” Lowrance.
Surviving are his daughters, Carolyn Lowrance of Hopewell, VA Pam (Tom) Breeding of Cleveland, VA; grandchildren, Callie (Josh) Kilbourne of Knoxville, TN, Meghan Lowrance of Asheville, NC, Matthew Lowrance of Hopewell, VA, Whitney Breeding, Adam Breeding both of Cleveland, VA; great-grandchildren, Anastasia Kilbourne, Isaiah Kilbourne; and sisters, Phyllis Bateman of Salem, and Nancy (Les) Fulcher of Irmo, SC.
Curtis was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked for many years at Stone Printing and retired from Progress Printing in Lynchburg. He was a member of Antioch Church of the Brethren and a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Salem. Curtis was active volunteering at the RAM House. He enjoyed showing his antique cars and was a member of the Studebaker Club and the Antique Automobile Club of America.
Funeral services were conducted from Antioch Church of the Brethren 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Josh Kilborne and Pastor Eric Anspaugh officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Antioch Church of the Brethren, 2996 Callaway Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. His family received friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.

SALEM - The funeral for Albert H. Clemons, 77, who died Thursday May 10, was conducted Saturday, May 12 in Franklin Memorial Park by Revs. Ronnie Morris and John Hemming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hansford and Minnie Clemons; and brothers, Dwight and Carlos Clemons.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Thomas Clemons; children, Malinda Goodman of California, Tammy Brogan (Jeff) of North Carolina, Tonya Clemons of North Carolina, and Bert Clemons (Shelly) of Roanoke; grandchildren, Brittany Brogan, Sam Goodman, Charlie and Lila Clemons; and siblings, Opal Wiley (Garland) of Roanoke, Annie Foley (Thomas) of Roanoke, and Shirley Clemons (Carolyn) of Franklin County.

Mark Anthony Dillon, age 53, of Rocky Mount passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12.
He is predeceased by his parents, William “Flap” Dillon and Nancy Dillon Wheeling.
Left to cherish his memory are sisters, Lynn Simmons, Teresa Hall and Tammy Dillon (Gary Kasey); brother, David Dillon; aunts, Frances Simmons and Mary Connors, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

MARTINSVILLE - The funeral for Spottswood “Jack” Fisher Eggleston, 87, who died Friday, May 11, was conducted Monday, May 14 from Norris Funeral Chapel by Rev. Lewis Harris. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Richard Eggleston and Nannie Rebecca Wingfield Eggleston; brothers, James T. Eggleston and Randolph Davis; and sisters, Josephine Haynes, Mary Elizabeth Eggleston and Johnsie Wells.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Pedigo Eggleston; daughters, Janet Smith of North Carolina, Karen Blankenship of Bridgewater and Sharon Lovell of Harrisonburg; son, Dennis K. Eggleston of Martinsville; sister, Bernice Oakes of Penhook; and five grandchildren.

Thomas Harvey Fralin, 68, of Glade Hill, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born on June 15, 1943, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Samuel P. Fralin Sr. and Ethel Mackenhimer Fralin. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel P. Fralin Jr. and Herbert E. Fralin.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted mother, Ethel Fralin, of Glade Hill; one brother, Robert W. (Patricia) Fralin Sr., of Wirtz; four sisters, Naomi Lois Echols, of Silver Spring, Md., Gloria Van and Gayle Dianne Fralin, of Glade Hill, and Shelia (Sidney) Clark, of Upper Marlboro, Md.; three nieces, four nephews, one uncle; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A homegoing celebration to honor Mr. Fralin's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends at the Church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Church cemetery.

John William Jenkins, 94 of Hardy passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was a retired carpenter and wood worker. The last surviving member of eight children, he was born April 1, 1918 a son of the late John William Harvey and Lydia Thurman Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Morgan Jenkins; son-in-law, Edward Park.
Surviving are a daughter, Rachel Park, Clayton , NC; sons and daughters-in law, Victor Owen and Mary Ann Jenkins, Ronald and Rita Jenkins, Rodney and Linda Jenkins, all of Hardy; grandchildren, David Jenkins and wife Lisa, Jennifer Cazares and husband David, Lisa Lujan and husband Josh, Brent Jenkins and girlfriend Valerie Keep, Michelle Piantino and husband Scott, Monica Spencer and husband Derek and Kimberly Jenkins; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sister-in-law and husband, Virginia and Buford Tuck of Moneta; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Rick Barton and Pastor Troy Keaton officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.

Mrs. Barbara Cobbs Kidd, 69 of 2705 Calvary Road, Penhook, Virginia departed this life Sunday afternoon (05-13-12) at her residence.
Born March 2, 1943 in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Dan Cobbs and Mary Brown Cobbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin Cobbs.
Prior to her retirement on disability, she was employed at Hooker Furniture in Martinsville, Virginia and was a member of the Greater Mt. Parrish Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Deaconess, Senior Choir, Nurses’ Unit, Usher Board and Directress of the Sunshine Choir.
Mrs. Kidd is survived by her husband, James W. Kidd, Sr. of the residence; four daughters, Loretta I. Kidd of Fieldale, Virginia, Valerie M. Kidd of Penhook, Virginia, Amaryllis D. Elam of the U. S. Army, stationed in Hawaii and Donna E. Kidd of Petersburg, Virginia; two sons, James W. Kidd, Jr. of Lynchburg, Virginia and Cornelius Cobbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; six sisters, Dora Cobbs, Lola Toney (George) and Lois Yates (Willis), all of Martinsville, Virginia, Helen Smith of Roanoke, Virginia, Elizabeth Shirley Alexander (Leon) of Washington, DC and Mozelle McKenzie of Chatham, Virginia; ten brothers, Andrew Cobbs (Flora) and Hildred Cobbs (Bernice), all of Rocky Mount, Virginia, Thomas Cobbs, Earley Cobbs (Betty), James Cobbs (Regina), George (Cecil), all of Penhook, Virginia, Wiley Cobbs (Esther) and Robert Cobbs and Jewel Cobbs, all of Roanoke, Virginia and Joe Cobbs (Joy) of Martinsville, Virginia; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday (05-18-12) at 1:00 p.m. at Greater Mt. Parrish Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Raymond C. Ramsey, Sr. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday (05-17-12) at Miller Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m.
